| Sunday, December 8th
1 p.m. John went to see the UCLA Neurologist, Dr. Waters, last Friday for the first time since he was released from the hospital. Apparently, the majority of healing with strokes takes place in the first 90 days with a huge decrease toward the 1 year mark. John's symptoms remain constant with slight difficulty swallowing and large patches of numbness on his left side (no feelings of pain, hot or cold.) His medications were reduced and some changed and he has been released to drive and begin working out. He is off work for at least another 90 days at which time he will see Dr. Waters again. He keeps busy working to complete his ship, doing minor yardwork and studying the Bible in preparation for the study he attends and sometimes teaches. Driving will give him more freedom to tend to other things (like Christmas shopping!) God bless each and every one of you this season and feel free to call, e-mail or visit. |
